Frequently Asked Questions
What time should I arrive?
Our morning service starts at 10:30am. Each month we have Communion on the 1st Sunday in the evening and on the 3rd Sunday in the morning. We have an evening service every week at 7pm. In the summer and over Christmas/ New Year we often have joint evening services with Claremont Parish Church and we share hosting of these services
How long is the service?
Morning services usually run until around 12noon, though sometimes they might last a little longer. Evening services try to be finished by 8pm, though again, depending on the topic being preached, they might over-run slightly.
What do I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in, most people are dressed casually
Can I bring my children along?
Definitely! There is a creche available during the morning service, and we run a Sunday Club for children aged 5-13.
What is a typical service like?
We have lively praise, time for corporate prayer, sometimes communion as described above and a significant emphasis on the centrality of the Bible, with expository preaching normally relating to one of our continuing Book studies (eg Luke) or occasionally upon a current theme. Services are very accessible and you will be sure to be made welcome and feel comfortable.
After the service?
After our services we allow plenty time for people to enjoy tea/coffee/biscuits (sometimes cakes and other wonders) and there is absolutely no rush to leave. Due to our multi-purpose hall we have to do some considerable tidying and re-organising after the evening services, but this doesn't affect the tea!
