Sudan - The McNeils

Thomas and Jillian McNeil are a couple from CBC that have responded to God’s call to become missionaries in Southern Sudan. They were sent out and commissioned by CBC in January 2010 to support the ongoing work of EPC.

Jillian, a trained primary school teacher, will teach in EPC’s Primary School in Yei. Nehemiah Primary School, shown here on the left has recently been built as a great improvement on the old school.

Jillian will teach a variety of subjects including English in the local school which has over 500 pupils and only 15 teachers. Only 7 of the teachers have received any formal training and therefore Jillian will also seek to support and mentor teachers in her role.

Thomas, an experienced operations manager and economics graduate, will manage a number of EPC businesses along with Goli Hospital. He will use his skills to identify new business opportunities, which will aim to increase employment opportunities among local people and increase EPC’s ability to provide further services to local people. Thomas will be working with local people to mentor and enable them to take over management of the businesses once they have been set-up.
