CAP Debt Centre, East Kilbride
LATEST UPDATE FROM CENTRE MANAGER GILLIAN ADAM
That's the Debt Centre been up and running for just over a year and what a year it's been! We've had 22 appointments booked and 12 of them have been in 2016 so momentum is definitely building. That's 22 people where we've sat in their homes and not only chatted about debt but been able to pray with them and offer support in many different ways. All of the people we're meeting are open to hear about our faith and what drives us to offer this support to them. Often its us who assume that people don't want to know. I'm discovering that there are so many people in our community who need a positive influence in their lives and often haven't had that from parents nor friends. Some people are trying to do it all on their own and they need to know that someone cares. Some people just need family to love them and who better than the church family! Building these relationships takes time and it's not for the faint hearted.
It's been a great privilege to be the Centre Manager and thank you all for your support, financially, prayerfully and also being befrienders. There's always opportunities for more supporters so if it's something you want to know more about and want to get on that front line and meet people where they are at then get in touch with me. I plan to hold a CAP Supporter meeting where you would be very welcome, just let me know if you're coming.
