Facebook Post - join us

This year we’re using the Bankuet website to help us carry out our Harvest food drive for EK Community Food Bank online. We’re encouraging everyone to give what they can to help people in our community who are experiencing a crisis; Bankuet will then pool everyone’s generous gifts and use them to bulk-buy the items the food bank needs most. This makes it easy for everyone to contribute and increases our impact as a church.

All you have to do is go to and make a donation, selecting “HARVEST - Calderwood Baptist Church” from the drop down menu at checkout to make sure it goes towards our shared total. Thank you so much for whatever you are able to contribute. We are hoping to raise £500, in order to be eligible for an additional £150 from Bankuet and will be sure to let you know how we get on!

Please note the following changes in operations for the safety of our staff, volunteers and users:

  • Collections will be at the front door only.

  • You must queue in a single file allowing plenty of space between you, the person in front & behind you.

  • No more than one person at a time can enter to collect a food bag.

  • Anyone who is a high risk must not be out, but rather should send someone else to collect their bag.

  • No one who has symptoms of COVID-19 or has been in contact with a person who has these or has had these previously should be at any of the collection points at any time.

Food Bank Times (2)

We are very grateful for the generosity people have shown, particularly at this time, to ensure we can continue to serve our community through this ministry. We are expecting that the pressure to provide for those in need will only increase at this time, we would appeal to anyone who can to keep donating food and toiletries, particularly these items:

  • Tinned Hotdogs

  • Tinned Vegetables

  • Tinned Potatoes

  • Tinned Fruit

  • Tinned Pudding (Rice pudding, custard, etc)

At the same time, we currently cannot accept any donations of clothes, toys, household items, etc, in order to reduce handling of non-essential items at this time.

If you would like to give online, you can do so by clicking

We would also ask anyone donating to please drop any donations at these supermarket donation points:

  • Sainsbury’s Kingsgate

  • Morrison’s Lindsayfield

  • Morrison’s Stewartfield

  • Tesco St leonards

  • Co-op Village

Thank you very much and may God give us grace and compassion at this time.

Some key information about the church...

Where & when does the church meet?

Our Church usually meets every Sunday at 10.30am and 7pm for our Sunday Services. Aim to arrive 10 minutes early to ensure you get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start. You can park in either the car park behind the Church or the Hunter House car park next door to the Church.

We meet at:

Calderwood Baptist Church
Maxwellton Road
East Kilbride
G74 3LW

You can see a map on our contact us page

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go.

In our morning service, there will be around 45 minutes of worship with the whole Church family when there will be singing, prayer, and a children's message. At this point, the children will leave for their own Sunday Club. The Bible will then be read and one of our Pastors or leaders will preach from God's word. The service usually finishes around 12noon.

In our evening service, we usually spend about 20 minutes singing and praying before the Bible is read and preached. Our evening service usually finishes around 8pm.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after all of our services where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What happens to the kids at church?

We have a fantastic programme for the kids at our Church. Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children need to go to their programme.

We have a very gifted team of Sunday Club teachers who lead a great curriculum for all ages. We have the following Sunday Club classes:

0-3 years:     Creche
3-5 years:     Pre-School Sunday Club
P1 - P7:        Sunday Club
S1 - S3:        Bible Class
For more information about our Sunday Club please visit our Sunday Club page.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
